Performance

​This automobile has a 5 door SUV/sports utility vehicle body style with a front positioned engine powering the front wheels. Its 3 cylinder, double overhead camshaft turbocharged engine has 4 valves per cylinder and a volume of 1 liters. For this model it produces power and torque figures of 94 bhp (95 PS/70 kW) and 175 Nm (129 lbft/17.8 kgm) at 1600-3500 rpm respectively. Power is supplied to the wheels by means of a 5 speed manual transmission. The Volkswagen Taigo weighs a claimed 1220 kg at the kerb. Maximum quoted speed is 183 km/h (114 mph), official fuel consumption is 6.0/4.0/4.7 l/100km urban/extra-urban/combined Euro 6, and carbon dioxide emissions are 108.0 g/km.

Styling

Designed with a coupé-like shape, it's no wonder the Taigo is unique. The car’s sloping roofline leads to a spoiler on the rear highlighting its sporty appearance. A side view of the Taigo is characterised by defining lines guiding your eyes seamlessly from the front to the back of the exterior. The stylish honeycomb grille connects the matrix LED headlights framing the front of the car and its expansive width. Illuminated light strips in both the front and rear of the exterior give it a polished look making it almost impossible to ignore its design-orientated appearance. The logo projection lighting epitomises the car’s modern expression giving it its Volkswagen personality.

With the new Taigo, Volkswagen has produced its first SUV coupé in this segment. Highlights include high-quality equipment features, raised seating position and unrestricted suitability for everyday use. The technical basis is provided by Volkswagen’s Modular Transverse Toolkit (MQB). The MQB platform offers a range of advantages: tight proportions are combined with a high level of body rigidity, excellent crash properties and a low body weight.
